3 ways to stay connected

People fall in love with a brand quickly, but the affinity can quickly fade if the interactions go away. One thing a brand or business can do is capture interest and then stay connected by giving value over time.

The week I shared with you a story about how I wished I would have stayed connected with my favorite band over the years.

Stay connected is the name of the game. Here are 3 simple ways to do it...

1. Capture the interest of the people who care

One of the best ways to capture interest and stay connected is with a simple newsletter.

In & out of Love

People fall in love with a brand quickly, but the affinity can quickly fade if the interactions go away. One thing a brand or business can do is capture interest and then stay connected by giving value over time. One simple way to do this is through a Newsletter.

An old thing becomes new again

Newsletters are on trend right now, AND for good reason.  They are a great way to remind your people you exist. Instead of having your people wade through the muck of social media to try and find and keep up with you, make it easy for them. Deliver what's fresh with you right to their emails.

A place to gather

Having a place to send people that are eager to stay connected with you is one of the best things you can do to start seeing more sustained & reliable growth.

2. Share parts of your journey out in the wild

Use social media as a reminder engine and a place to draw in the people who care.

A love/hate relationship

Often times creative entrepreneurs either have a love/hate relationship with social media, but no matter how you feel social media is a place to help remind people you exist.

Just a taste

I know, I know... I just said that a newsletter is 100x better than social media for capturing interest, however, just because newsletters are better, doesn't mean social media doesn't also work. And on the flip side, sometimes people aren't ready to get a letter from you directly in their inbox, but they are more than willing to stay connected to your journey on their favorite social media app.  One easy way to use social media is to create a micro version of what you create for your newsletter and then distribute that out to social media.

3.  Meet your people right where they are

Sometimes it pays to pay (just a little)

I recently was reminded of a band I love but totally forgot about, and it was because of an ad that my love for them was rekindled. This is the power of meeting folks right where they are.

A little pay-to-play can boost your reach

Social Media is increasingly becoming a place where you pay to reach your full audience, but a lot of small brands are not willing to pay to play which is understandable. However, when you have something special going on and you need to get the word out to your peeps a few bucks go a long way. It does take a little knowledge of who you people are and where they hang out in order to not waste your time & your money. But it's worth figuring this part out.

And if you need with this (or any of it) let us know 😉
